No. Most volunteer positions do not require any experience.

Volunteers are asked to complete at least 10 hours of service during the convention in exchange for a full pass to the whole event.

Volunteers who successfully complete all 10 assigned volunteer hours receive a complimentary Full Weekend Pass to the convention.

No. Volunteers are not required to purchase a Full Pass.

Absolutely. Volunteer schedules are designed so you can complete your assigned shifts while still enjoying workshops, social dancing, and showcase performances.

Yes. Many performers also volunteer. Please let us know your performance schedule in advance, and we'll do our best to avoid scheduling conflicts.

Yes. You're welcome to apply together. While we can't guarantee identical assignments, we'll do our best to accommodate your request whenever possible.

Volunteer opportunities may include registration, hospitality, checking wristbands, workshop support, artist hospitality, merchandise, transportation, setup, teardown, ticketing, and other event operations.

Yes. Volunteers receive instructions before their assigned shifts so they understand their responsibilities and know who to contact if they need assistance.

Volunteers are required to wear the official CALDAC Volunteer T-Shirt during their assigned shifts, along with comfortable, appropriate attire for their volunteer assignment.

We'll do our best to accommodate your availability and preferences, but assignments are ultimately based on the convention's staffing needs.

If you're unable to work a scheduled shift, please notify the Volunteer Team as soon as possible. We understand that emergencies happen and will do our best to work with you when we receive advance notice.

Volunteers who fail to report for their assigned shifts without notifying the Volunteer Team may forfeit their volunteer benefits and will be charged the current Full Weekend Pass price. Because every volunteer role is essential to the success of the convention, unreported absences can significantly impact event operations.

No. Volunteer assignments are made individually. If you're unable to work your shift, please contact the Volunteer Team rather than arranging your own replacement.

Every volunteer plays an important role in delivering a successful convention. Completing your full commitment helps ensure that registration, workshops, performances, guest services, and other event operations run smoothly for everyone.

Yes. Upon request, CALDAC can verify eligible volunteer hours for school or community service requirements.

Yes. Depending on staffing needs, your 10-hour commitment may be completed in one day or spread across multiple days.

No. As of, August 7th, 2026, all the volunteer slots have been filled and CALDAC is no longer seeking volunteers.
